Mrs Dalloway — An experimental musical explosion of the classic Virginia Woolf novel. Librettist Brandon Adam and I aim to distill the essence of Mrs Dalloway into a foreboding metatheatrical dark comedy about class, emotion, and the inherited ruthlessness that orders our world. Some demos:

The Answer Is — A love letter to golden age musical comedy. A workplace musical comedy on the set of a game show, The Answer Is explores what happens when love and work get all mixed up. Music and lyrics by John Coyne, book by Andrew Mullins. In progress, with an eye towards concert readings mid-2025.

Nuestra Casita — A musical for young people about a group of friends who band together and save a local restaurant! Book, music, and lyrics by John Coyne. Nuestra Casita was originally produced & developed by Musical Theater West, and has toured schools and community centers throughout Los Angeles multiple times over the past few years. It was written to reinforce social studies curriculum standards in the state of California regarding an individual’s role in the free market economy, and it has gotten audiences of children to stand up, sing along, and dance by the end. Here’s a composer demo of a favorite tune:
